• Hello guys!
Once again i am looking for some help by this amazing community.
My site is using a listing theme (formerly car dealer), in which each listing handles the car images with a slider, so its not using the featuring image function from wordpress (as for the posts). This is causing me some issues when i share the listings on facebook (its not showing automatically the picture, have to add it manually on yoast) and also it doesnt show me the preview pics on the google search results. I wondering if i can “activate” the featuring image function in the listings to solve those issues (guess they are custom posts?). Here an example of this listings:

I guess wordpress doesnt see the slider pictures “linked” to the actual listing page so it doesnt preview them when i share the pages or google display them in teh search results.

    Thanks for your help
    Andreas

To apply featured images to CPTs we need to declare “thumbnail” in the CPT’s “supports” array when the CPT is registered. To do so probably requires the advice of your slider plugin’s devs. Try asking in their dedicated support channel.

What you really need to happen is for the images to be included in structured data. Yoast knows enough to pick up featured images for this, but you could add our own code to get slider image data into the page’s structured data without making them into featured images.
