  • Hey jbkeefer,

The account is working properly in our demo feed here. I checked your site and it appears that you are using an old version of the plugin (Version: 2.5.15). Updating the plugin should fix your issue.

Should you need additional help then could I have you contact us through our Support page here.

I hope you find your week is progressing smoothly.

So I have to buy it again to get the update? Hmm. I spent a $149 for a developer license and now you have a lifetime for $50 bucks more?

I’ll have to think about it. Might just revert to the free version. Thanks.

    Hey @jbkeefer,

Sorry to hear about the issue. I just wanted to respond as the plugin developer to see whether I could help, although we’re not really supposed to discuss the Pro version of the plugin here so I’ll try to keep it brief. If you’d like to carry on the conversation at all then just contact us here.

When you purchase the Pro version of the plugin it’s a one-time cost for the plugin itself and it comes with a license for plugin updates and support. When the license expires it can be optionally renewed for 50% of the initial price. The plugin will continue to work after the license expires unless Facebook makes a major change to it’s API which causes older versions of the plugin to break. For this reason, we recommend keeping the plugin license active to avoid any potential disruption.

We always try to look after our customers and will work with them if needed to change their license type to fit their needs. In your case, you purchased a Developer license which allows the plugin to be activated on an unlimited amount of sites but you were only using it on 2 websites. Even though you purchased it a year and a half ago we’d be happy to change it for a lower license type that allows you to use it on 5 websites and then apply the amount you paid for your Developer license to extend the license of the lower license for another year free-of-charge. If you’d like to do this then just contact us at the link above. We charge $149 for the license you purchased as many of the people who use that license will activate it on 25-50 sites, which means that our potential support burden for those customers is much higher due to the increased likelihood of a conflict with a theme, other plugin, server configuration, or Facebook settings.

Let me know whether that helps, or if you have any other questions at all, and I’d be happy to help!

That is a very generous offer.

    I’ll contact you privately.

But shouldn’t the free version work properly even if “Facebook makes a major change to it’s API” because it is not now.

    Hey EnderWiggen,

The Free version should always work correctly with any Facebook API change because as soon as a change is made we release another Free plugin update to accomodate that change.

If your Free version of the plugin is not working properly due to that issue then please go to this ww.wp.xz.cn site here and download the latest version. We always recommend keeping your plugins updated with the latest version release to avoid any issues.

If you have the latest Free version installed (which is currently Ver 2.4.6) and are still having an issue then it is most likely something different which we will gladly help you with if you submit a support request through our site Support page here or on this forum.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

I tested that free version but it did not work. I checked the FB profile on your demo feed and it works The full story is that I just noticed that the pro (version 3.1) for one client stopped working. The license is expired, however the same version for another client with a valid license is still working. That is why I tested the free version.

Update: I retested the free version and it is now working. No idea why it did not work yesterday.
