Feed pictures

I’m using buddy press to provide a “newsfeed” for my users in which they can see pictures other users have posted. However, when you click a picture, the images pops up twice, both of which you have to exit out of before continuing to use the site. Any ideas where I can prevent this so it’s only one picture that pops up?
