Wondering how Google treats the changes in the meta description. Is there a standard moment for crawling a site by google bots? For example, is it once a week?
I thought using ‘Fetch like Google’ + URL in the webmaster tools would clear the cache, but looks like this doesn’t work.

Depending on the website, Google may either crawl the same website multiple times in a week or once in a week.

On the other hand, the fetch as Google will clear the cache from Google and force to recrawl a page. However, in some cases, Google may still take a while to show the updated changes in the search results.

It also depends on how often you are creating new content. The more new original content you create will lead to Google bots crawling your site more.

If you average a new article each day, G bots will hit every day (usually they will start coming around same time each day). If you only do 1 article per week or less, expect much less visits.

If you do less using the Fetch like Google is your solution.
