Fetching Post with Different Permalink

Hi, I tried fetching posts from a non-wordpress site to a WordPress site, everything working fine except the post permalink.

My old site permalink is https://domainname.com/cinema/actor-dhanush-to-attened-his-assistant-wedding-reception/cid12228075.htm

But it’s displaying in new WordPress site like https://domainname.com/cid12228075-htm/

I need to set same permalink without .htm like cinema/actor-dhanush-to-attened-his-assistant-wedding-reception/cid12228075-htm. Can you please suggest best solution for this.

Did you modify anything on your site before the problem started?

WPeMatico allows you to copy the permalink of the post from the feed, for example “cid12239405.htm”, but the link structure depends on the permalinks settings on your WordPress site.

Thanks for the reply, i set “Post Name” as permalink in my wordpress site but it’s displaying only https://domainname.com/cid12228075-htm/ . Can you please tell how can i achieve this permalink https://domainname.com/cinema/actor-dhanush-to-attened-his-assistant-wedding-reception/cid12228075.htm in my wordpress site.

Of course, I could guide you to achieve the structure you need.

First you must identify and know what each element of the permalink is.

In your case “cinema” should be the category, while “cid12228075-htm” is the post name, for example:

/%category%/%postname%/ = /cinema/cid12228075.htm

Now, you must identify and know what is “actor-dhanush-to-attened-his-assistant-wedding-reception” so you can add it to the structure.

I’ll attach a screenshot, please take a look it.
