I may be able to help you. But it might help me a lot if you could post the name of your blog (or an URL) so that I can take a look at your RSS feed.
WordPress “Itunes Settings” are not synchronized with Itunes
How long did you wait after you changed the settings? Usually it takes the iTunes Store server 24h to update such data.
In Itunes on my Mac or in my Iphone our logo is not displayed (I publishe only mp3),
I guess you mean the picture which should appear in the Cover Flow view or any over view of iTunes or your iPhone which shows cover art. Right?
The itunes:image and the RSS image are only for the iTunes Store page of your podcast (or any other feed reader software). If you want to see the logo also in iTunes or the iPhone then you need to embed the image into the media file. You can use iTunes for that action. And my few try to publish enhanced podcast where complete failure
In which way way it failure? What was wrong?
Regards,
TimHello Tim !
I will try to give you more informations :
You can fin my wordpress here : http://podcast.proxi-jeux.fr
My feed seems ok : http://podcast.proxi-jeux.fr/feed/I updated the podcast’s informations weeks (months ?) ago in the “settings for the default feed” part of the plugin. It seems that it don’t synchronize anymore after the first time.
I understand that the 2nd and the 3rd issues are linked : as I only generate simples .mp3 files no image is displayed in the cover flow.
I tried few times to generate enhanced file : I use garageband, inserted images and so on … and uploaded a .m4a file on my FTP server. Once, it was not possible to play it from the WordPress, and the other time, instead of that particulary file, the file displayed in Itunes was a PDF file found in the web site …Please, note that I want to be able to display a mp3 / m4a player on the site for non-apple device users, and display the m4a file on Itunes.
Thanks a lot for your help : I Like podpress as it is very simple and powerful, but I spend a loooooooot of time on it, and I would prefere to spend it on my podcasts 😉
It is possible to insert cover art into mp3 files to. I don’t know Garage Band but you can use iTunes for that task. Search for “adding cover art with itunes” with e.g. Google and you will find several picture slideshows and videos which explain how-to do that. For instance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpdUcxUdTNw
uploaded a .m4a file on my FTP server. Once, it was not possible to play it from the WordPress
Whether on can play .m4a files directly on the web site depends on the installed web browser plugin. podPress creates an element on the web site which tells the web browser to use a certein plugin e.g. QuickTime to play this file. Maybe this one time it was a web browser without such a plugin. Currently podPress includes no own player for m4a files (only one for .mp3, .ogg/.ogv, .flv)
(Future podPress versions will use a different player for the media files and have more HTML5 support.)I don’t know what has happened with the feed which contained only posts m4a files and why they turned to pdf files. But on the day of your Tweet the problem was limited to the Feedburner version of this feed. I believe that the original version which came from your blog had included the m4a files. That is why I (podpress2010) wrote you that the problem is only in your feedburner feed.
Today, it seems that you have changed something. The posts in the Feedburner feed and the other feed contain only mp3 files.
What have you changed? Can you reproduce the previous situation? Or did you find some Feedburner setting which is responsible? If this (pdf files instead of m4a) happens in non-Feedburner feed then I would like to know more about your podPress settings for this feed. Something like that should definitely not happen.
Hi !
I don’t want to have an image on the podcast on MY phone or computer, but on the device of our listners (we broadcast our own podcast).
I generated a simple .m4a file, which is an .mp3 file with an illustration (that is to say, that when i display it on Itunes, the image is ok).
I added another media at the bottom of our last article : the .mp3 is diplayed on the web site, and I hope that the .m4a will be ok in Itunes. Please note : the only thing I’ve changed, was to do an auto-detect on 3 or 4 of our articles media. I think that we still have some update problems and detecting the media files synchronised …
By the way, do you have any idea why the podcast’s informations aren’t synchronised ?Thanks a lot

No. All I know is that the iTunes Server looks once every 24h for new episodes. But it may take some days to update the channel information like the image see http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#queue .
Sometimes Feedburner caches the feed for some time. The feed of your podcast is the Feedburner version of your feed. There might be a further delay because Feedburner needs to updated before the iTunes Store can update.I generated a simple .m4a file, which is an .mp3 file with an illustration
Correct. But all I have tried to say is that it is possible to add such an image also to .mp3 files.
You should enable the itunes:new-feed-url option only if you want to change the URL of your podcast at the iTunes Store. Once it is changed, you can deactivate this setting.
