    Hi there,

I have a site that have 2 categories but within each category, the sub categories are the same name but with different slugs. I’m trying to assign a field group but it’s not working.

For example, I have a sub category called “Specials” in both categories.

    When I select:
Post Category > is equal to > choose the “Specials” sub category in the 1st category AND
Post Category > is equal to > choose the “Specials” sub category in the 2nd category

    But the fields aren’t displaying.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    Hi @myworldz,

Thank you for reaching out for assistance.

It sounds like you’re encountering a common logic issue related to how ACF structures location rules. The key often lies in understanding the distinction between rules within the same group and those across different groups.

I recommend reviewing the official ACF documentation on location rules, which outlines how to properly assign field groups based on various conditions:
    ACF Custom Location Rules Documentation

If that doesn’t resolve your issue, please feel free to submit a support ticket using our support form, and we’ll be happy to look into it further.

    Best wishes,

    Patroba.
