Hi I am using a modified version of your plugin that i saw on another thread or yours and downloaded.

We need to be able to see the users First Name and Surname that we collect in the extended profile on the approval screen. The modified version shows this which is great.

We have had an odd issue where sometimes, once approved, the users First name gets used as their Username. We can’t have this as it is vital everyone is anonymous. Has this occurred before? I am running tests with the unmodified plugin but as it is only sometimes it does this it is hard to test. Or do you have another method of seeing the extended info on the approval screen?

sorry correction, it is weirder: the first part of the email is getting swopped over to the username. So if their email is [email protected] this is changing the username to: bobemailuser on approval

Which thread did you get a modified copy from? So I can see what modifications I made and could go from there.

I’m honestly not sure at this point, because we don’t do any sort of modification of saved data other than our own custom user meta keys. Certainly nothing that should be updating name-based data fields.

I am getting them to clarify it is definitely occurring at the approval stage. It is odd as it is not consistent.

It’s odd it’s happening at all, because the only thing we are touching is a user meta key of “_bprwg_is_moderated”.

Have you disabled all plugins except BuddyPress and BP Registration Options to see if it happens at that point as well? Perhaps it’s some other plugin causing the issues.
