I noticed I have an error at the top of my panel that says

    Warning!
The following file was not found. Please make sure the file exists and has write permissions: /wordpress/.user.ini

I just updated to the latest version but the problem persists.

Does the plug-in create this file? My host says they’re unaware of a file in that location. I’m on a nginx server.

You are seeing this warning because:
    1. Your Server API is one of the following: ‘cgi’, ‘cgi-fcgi’, ‘fpm-fcgi’
    2. This file is required from the “Cookie secutiy” feature.

To stop seeing this warning create an empty file with write permissions: /wordpress/.user.ini

Even if you don’t do anything, only the “Cooking security” feature won’t work.
