file transfer for users?

Hi!

I’m new to wordpress. I run it for my little privat site for some little family blogging and a photo gallerie on my little son.
Now there are a lot of friends that even take photos of him. I want them to upload their photos on my page, too.
I found an upload-folder-option but I don’t know how to configure an “upload-user” and where he finds the upload-menu or something like this.

Is there an option, that gaves users the rights to upload any kind of files in the upload folder?
an when, how does it work?
