File Upload Fields – not working as advertised
-
Hi,
How much I like the fact that file uploads is (finally) added to CF, there are several issues with it.
Although limiting the file upload(s) to files of certain type or extensions (jpg, gif etc.) this just doesn’t work. I’m able to upload a huge TIF file (> 100MB) without any warning, although I’ve set the files to be uploaded may only be JPG, GIF or PNG.
Another thing, this TIF file (after uploading) does not appear in the standard WP Uploads directory (‘files are uploaded to the WordPress Media Library’).
Another thing, when I upload multiple files, only the first on the list gets ‘uploaded’ the other ones just don’t. This means that the form never completes, so nothing happens.
And when I limit the file upload to a single file, and set the file types to JPG, GIF and PNG I can still select a PSD file and send the form. No warning, and nothing happens after a long period of the ‘spinner’ (indicating that the file is being processed) there is nothing going on. No file upload, no form processing, nothing, the form stays the same with all fields filled in and the file selected: no clue for the form being submitted or not.
This is not working, sorry to say…
Short story: I think this file upload needs more development to make it productive ready!p.s.: I can’t show a working example because I’m testing this on a site in development.
