Please try switching to the default theme to check if the issue comes from the active theme. When creating the package does the file get attached to the package properly? Please check your /uploads/download-manager-files/ directory to make sure uploaded files are being stored there.
If possible, share a screenshot of your WPDM basic settings page.
@coimbra, it may be the case that we are looking at two separate problems with Download Manager. I’m seriously considering switching out the plug-in, especially as they do not offer any discounts for non-profit organisations.
@coimbra, please try deactivate any plugin you installed recently. It looks like happening due to plugin conflict, you may try deactivate other plugin one after another to find out which one causing the issue.
@konchog, please try disabling output buffering option from wpdm settings.
Mainly these issue sometimes happens due to different server configuration, so, if your file is public, you may attach them using media library file picker, that will resolve the issue too. Alternatively, you can also use cloud file storage add-ons:
@shafayat-alam, thanks: Disabling output buffering fixed the issue for Safari, but you know this is a monkey-fix: Notice that the errors have nothing to do with server settings, as the problem is entirely client-based. Secondly, as I have indicated before, we have a tiny annual budget and we
are a non-profit organisation, so there is no way we are going to find ourselves committed to the high license costs of WPDM Pro, let alone the plugin you suggest.
We have so many issues with WPDM that even if we had the budget, I would not recommend to the trustees that we license it – it is just not yet worthy of such an investment. For example, the fact that re-linking a file takes one through a third-party plugin which always places you at the file root, and not at the current file location – or even at the most recent file location, is a major issue for us.
