    Hi,
I’ve recently installed iThemes Security since a bot keep on trying to hack into my wordpress site. I also keep on receiving emails from that “Files have been changed…”.
Does this include changed that I do, when I create new projects, and edit different parts of the website? One of the changed files have the following path:
    wp-content/cache/page_enhanced/wwwmydomain.com/robots.txt/_index.html.old

    > Is this file change something that was done by a hacker or just a routine change that happens..?

    Thanks you.

  • Hey Emily,

This is changes to any files in your install. This seems to be a cache directory which routinely updates. It’s usually safe to exclude cache and backup files/directories.

If you’d like to be certain you can email me the file and I’ll take a look. Please include a link to this thread so I’ll know what it’s in regards to.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

Thanks for your response, I excluded the cache files now. I’ll see if the “file changes” emails lessens, and take it from there…

Thanks again and I appreciate your help,
    Emily
