I just started modifying your plugin, and it almost works as I want it.
Folders could be filtered as well, as you are using 'dir' as indicator in $endung.
Where can I send you what I’ve got, once I’m done?

one could easily introduce a shortlist parameter hide-dirs="true" or something, and then in line 71 check that param before adding ‘dir’ to the filter.
This would add more flexibility, but I’m not shure about security: Would the folder still be accessible via the URL query?
You have to decide between ‘display directory’ and ‘use link to directory’.
First we can do it with your adjustment.
Last is up to the server config.
Good timing – I was also about to suggest filtering by file types!
