Filter on location

I downloaded the example .csv file and imported my members. I populated the ‘locations’ field with their state. When I go to All Members and edit their page, I don’t see ‘location’ anywhere. And I can’t create a filter to edit by state. When i click to show ‘locations’ in the shortcode, the locations don’t show in the element or on the single page.
