Filtering loses Category

Hello,

I like this plugin, it gives us the possibility to filter by product tag.

Just one thing is strange:

When I’m inside a shop category and activate a filter, the filter is applied but the category is lost. Like this:

I visit the shop and start from the start page. Then I choose a category from the sidebar. This category opens, there is a – sign where a + sing was before, and I can see the SubCategories of my selceted Category. The URL shows

http://myshop/prod_cat/komponenten/

filtered by “mytag” leads me to

http://myshop/prod_cat/komponenten/?swoof=1&product_tag=mytag

And here the category is lost, I am back on the shop start page with no Categories or Subcategories visible.

What could be the reason for this? And how can I avoid this behaviour?

Hello

Yes, such thing happens because of troubles with sessions, and to stay on the same category http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/ try activate transitions in the plugin settings …

Any way this is resolved in the next version of the plugin and update is on its way, just a time delay with couple of new features I want to add before …

I changed the storage type to “transient”, but there is no change in behaviour…

Thanks, I checked it at the link you gave me.

One thing that puzzles me: When I go here:
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/
and then select “tag2” at the bottom right, then products are filteted ok.

When I then change to http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/doodies/ (“Level 3”) the tag selection is lost. Can this be kept to stay with “tag2” on every category, until it is de-selected?

Please give me a sign here when the new version is out.

maybe I explained it badly….I’ll try again:

I go to:
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/
-> 23 Products

I click “category example”:
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/
-> 13 Products

I choose Tag 2:
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/?swoof=1&product_tag=tag2&paged=1&really_curr_tax=9-product_cat
-> 3 Products

I select “Level 3” under “Category Example”:
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/doodies/
-> 2 Products

but here, the Tag2-Filter is gone!

Then I pick it again:
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/doodies/?swoof=1&product_tag=tag2&paged=1&really_curr_tax=36-product_cat
-> 1 Product

Do you understand what I mean?
I think the filter should stay all the time, no matter where you navigate.

Hello

Understood, but each of that link mean that customer is on catrgory page and there shows products from term which is last in the link:
* http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/ – clothing (13 products at all)
* http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/ – hoodies (7 products at all)
* http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/doodies/ – doodies (2 products at all)

For all that pages dymamic recount recounts all variants with category which is CURRENT on that pages

so:
* tag2+clothing == 3
* tag2+hoodies == 3
* tag2+doodies == 1

BECAUSE
http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/shop/clothing/happy-ninja-2/ – only this product marked http://c2n.me/3s6ouDf and by tag2

another 2 (with tag 2) as: http://clip2net.com/s/3s6oAoM – because of it they were displayed here http://www.demo.woocommerce-filter.com/product-category/clothing/hoodies/ as 3 products with tag 2

Hallo,

thank you for your answer. But I think I don’t understand.

It I try the same thing as in my last post, the selected tag filter is still gone when I choose a new category from the top menu(!).

I I choose a category filter (!) from the right sidebar, the tag filter stays…which is what I need.

So, it is fine in the sidebar but “a bit less than fine” in the top menu.

Do you know what I mean?
