    Hello,

installation of the Plugin is ready, now the plugin aksks me for a cName. What should I insert there?
I have got the IP-adress, that is one possibility, but the customer shares a server in his hosting-package.
And I have got the url, which is used for a website, that is already active so I don’t want to interrupt it.
What is the best thing to do?
    kind regards
    Ottilie

You can use either a CNAME or an IP address.

    Hi Ron,

    thank you for your answer.
If I use the IP addres, that doesn’t make a problem that the IP adress is shared with some other sites with different urls? The site is provided together some other sites on oner server in a hosting package and I don’t know these sites.
    Kind regards

Can you park a domain or create a domain alias in your hosting control panel?

    Hi Ron,
the site uses an alias like http://www.example.de. I create subdomains, i.e. named http://www.sample.example.de. In the hosting-package, there is a domain http://www.sample.de. Now I want to reach the subdomain with http://www.sample.de.
For that problem I want to use wordpress-mu-domain-mapping.0.5.4.3.
Can I use http://www.example.de as CNAME? Or is the domain-alias wrong here? Is it better to use the IP-address?
In the hosting control panel I can create as much domains as I want to pay.
    Thanks
    Ottilie

Can you point those domains to your WP install? If so, then the IP address will work.

    Hi Ron,

thank you very much, with IP address everything works fine.
    Great plugin.
