Find & Replace Bro my site
-
So over the past few weeks I’ve been developing my website on a local host using MAMP. I got to the point today that I then wanted to take it live. So I looked up applications that’d help me do that. I found the Plugin WP Migrate, which didn’t really help me migrate without having to update, so nvm that.
I did however, install it locally as well, and was able to export the database. Now…I didn’t update any of the info. The user and pass and everything were still set to root. I changed those. Site still wasn’t working, I uploaded all the content using FTP. So the site was technically, up. But the database was not.
I then was going to use the Plugin WP Migrate, saw a feature on it called find & replace. I figured this feature would FIND & REPLACE anything that said localhost:8888 so I changed it to my website and yea. The local host site broke. And since then has not worked. I’m not sure of how to revert or get it back but any help would be greatly appreciate. Because I’m starting to feel that I am at a loss, and have to redesign my entire website again, and that’d suck. HELP!
