    I’m using a template called ‘chaoticsoul 1.0. And I am using WP 2.1. My blog is here: http://www.badlandscaping.com/

    I’d like to make a few changes, and I someone to tell me where to look for the relevant cod, and perhaps what it looks like [I know html pretty well, put php not so well, yet]:

    1. Most of my stories have a small lead graphic. I’d like this lead graphic to remain on my home page, similar to the way this is handled: http://www.universetoday.com , where all images before the jump remain on the home page. Can someone tell me where to look to find this code?

    2. I am getting a horizontal line [that looks like a jump line] at the bottom of any indented block text and again not sure what to look for?

    1. Probably your main Loop in the theme’s index.php, although without looking closer it’s hard to say. What appears to be happening is that your first post is being displaying using the_content() while the rest are being displayed using the_excerpt(). You need to change that so that they all use the_content() and you will then have to add <!--more--> tags to your posts to define where you want the jump to be, for each post.

    2. In your CSS, you have this:

    blockquote {
	background: #1b1814;
	padding: 1px 15px 5px;
	border-bottom: 1px solid #35302a;
}

    That border-bottom: is what’s adding that line.

    Fixed! gosh, thanks, it was just the level of help that I needed. I have to edit the entries to insert the break, but it’s waht I wanted.

    I’m marking this as solved. But can you tell me what the term ‘loop’ means in the WP context? I see it used a lot and not really sure how to interpret the word.

    The Loop is what gets and displays the main chunk of content from the database. Posts, Pages, all the actual big stuff. That’s the Loop. It exists for single posts, for multiple posts, for everything. It can take many forms. But it remains The Loop.
