Hi @douggeeks
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for taking the time to rate us. Our team works hard to always provide the best experience for our users and we love to hear the feedback.
Base on your ticket, I see that we asked additional questions and we also suggested a solution so that your case could be solved.
As our Branda plugin does have already an SMTP module, there is a high possibility at the moment, that the SMTP module will be not a part of Forminator and also taking into account many others SMTP plugins on the market. However, I see your point of view, and having that module in Forminator could help users to avoid installing additional plugins. I passed your suggestion to our Forminator Team and hope they will consider such an update.
Once again we thank you for the review.
Kind Regards
Kris
Sure, but the Branda software plugin is bloated as all get out. If I only want SMTP (and I want it to integrate with your forms) I don’t want another big download with the constant calls to action.
I mean, I know I’m just a nobody, but I opted for an alternative to Branda because of this issue. Thus, I’m guessing other people have too.
Methinks, and I’m aware nobody asked or really cares for that matter, but smaller plugins with smaller fees might help you scoop up some of the smaller customers who only need specific functionality. All the developers are trying to build all-inclusive products, and plugins have huge over-laps of superfluous functionality.
That’s development costs gone to waste. Support structure that’s more expensive to maintain (or suffers in quality which is more common). And potential customers who ‘settle’ for limited functionality rather than making small investments here or there, simply because the jump from zero to hundreds of dollars is too steep for products that people experience as being poorly supported.
But like I said, nobody really cares what I have to say. You do you, boo boo.
Hi @douggeeks,
Branda does indeed come with a lot of different stuff built in, but for that exact reason the functionality within the plugin is split into different modules.
This allows enabling only required ones so that those that you don’t want, and don’t enable, don’t put extra load on your site.
We appreciate any feedback sent our way and Kris already passed your ticket over to our Forminator team so they can consider adding SMTP directly inside Forminator.
Cheers,
Predrag
Tell me you don’t understand my point without telling me you don’t understand my point.
Good luck with the cartoons.
