Hi, I am getting many hits in google analitics from pages that do noy belong to my website, although they appear as if they where mine. If I try to load one of those pages I get into my website and just says ‘the page does not exist’ or something similar. I have set simple firewall to respond with a 404 page, but it does not work. I am trying that those wrong hits do not arrive to load my website, and so avoid google analytics from registering that hit.

    my website is http://www.chaotic-us.com

    thanks.

When you say you set the firewall to respond with a 404 page… how are you setting the firewall to detect this particular type of traffic?

Hi, thanks for your quick response. I have checked all. I do not really understand how they work. Maybe you can suggest me the right configuration. Thanks again.

The Firewall isn’t designed to stop traffic like that.

    Have a read here:
    https://icontrolwp.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/3000001060-how-exactly-does-the-firewall-work-

And also then read more about the features and you’ll come to understand a bit better what the purpose of it is.

If you have questions after you read some of this, please let me know.
