I inherited a site that already had wordfence set up. The site was recently moved to a new instance on Vultr in order to update the operating system and other server software, and the firewall appears to no longer be optimized. The server Ubuntu running Nginx. When I open the Firewall optimization settings it has the following file in the auto_prepend_file field. It says if I don’t recognize this file to contact the support forums. I don’t recognize it but I wasn’t part of the original setup of Wordfence. The auto_prepend_file being listed is: /var/www/html/xhprof/external/header.php

Let me know how I should proceed, or what other information you need from me.

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @muddart, thanks for getting in touch.

There can be instances where a host or another plugin uses auto_prepend_file, so it is possible that the header.php file you see there is serving a purpose. For instances where this file would still be required after Wordfence optimization, the INCLUDE option in our optimization wizard will make sure that our wordfence-waf.php also includes the header.php file so that they both load.

I can’t for sure say that the header.php is/isn’t needed by something on your site from the information I have, but you could also make a note of the path. If you use Wordfence’s OVERRIDE option and something on your site breaks, you could return the auto_prepend_file value manually in your .user.ini and re-optimize Wordfence with INCLUDE selected the next time.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
