    I am new to ActivityPub but old to WordPress.

    In the installation instructions, I’d add a “next step” at the end along the lines of:

    Your federation identity is @<your-blog-username>@<your-blog-hostname>: search for this in your favorite Federation instance.

    The plugin itself could maybe construct this for you on the settings page.

    I found my guy: @dannyman@dannyman.toldme.com

    On my instance, he had no posts: https://sfba.social/@[email protected]

    I subscribed, then ran a test post:
    https://dannyman.toldme.com/2022/11/30/first-contact-with-the-federation/

    It does not appear over on Mastodon, but I figure relax, dude; sometimes the server is lagged.

    Anyway, thank you for setting this up. If anyone has advice on my doing something wrong, please give me a shout! Cheers!

    “Now what?”

    I tried searching for my site’s URL from Mastodon but came up empty. Maybe it just needs some time to propagate, and that’s fine, but if so I think it should mention that in a banner message or something.

    I also agree that it should tell you more about what your handle is, and how to find your blog from the fediverse. In my case it ended up being (I think?) my site’s admin account username, which isn’t ideal from a security standpoint. I will probably end up making a new account to make blog posts, but again I wouldn’t have even realized this if I hadn’t started searching for information and found this thread.

    Edit: Might investigate trying to add this feature via a pull request, if I get the time (which is a toss-up, hehe).

    Yeah, it took a couple of days, I guess, and now my test post appeared. Judging by this support board, it might be good to advise new users “it may take a couple of days for new posts to appear on your Mastodon server.”
