    Hi there!

I am facing a strange issue with the {first_name}-tag. It’s only working in forms, that I create with the new Visual Donation Form Builder. But I like the design the old Builder produces better, but the old bulider somehow can’t interpret {first_name}-tag. It doen’t transform it into the first name… 🙁
It only seems to work with {name}….

    Is this a desired/known behavior?

And an additional question: Do I have any influence on in which language the Paypal popup appears in? When I make a donation via Paypal, an English-language Paypal window opens, which is inconvenient since I run a German site…

    Kind regards
    Andi

Concerning the paypal language issue: I set the Account Country to “Germany” and also the Base Country under Settings -> General. Also made shure that I first set the Country and THEN connected Paypal. Paypal is still presenting in English language…

I found out, that the language issue only appears in firefox-browser. All the other browser which i tested (Chrome, Safari) display the Paypal-Popup in german language. It’s only Firefox who opens it in english language. When I inspect the frontend code and add a “&locale=de_DE” to the sdk, it opens in german language.

Is there a way to force the &locale=de_DE? Woocommerce, which I also run on my page, has this setting and behaves correct in Firefox…

This is only issue with paypal donations gateway. The standard paypal gateway forwards to german Paypal-Popup…

    Hi, @mardermolchii.

    Glad you reached out.

    1 – Name tag

Correct, that’s the expected behavior right now. For v2 forms (legacy, classic and multi-step forms), the {name} tag represents the donor’s name for salutation purposes—either first name only or prefix and last name if provided. And the {fullname} tag represents the donor’s full name, first and last. That’s how it was designed to work.

2 – GiveWP usually uses your browser language and sends it to the payment gateway. I created a feature request to force a specific locale here: https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/force-specific-locale-for-paypal-donations.

Thank you, what you wrote in the feedback is exactly what I need. 🙂
In the meanwhile I’ll use Paypal Standard gateway, because with it, I get also in Firefox a german popup.
