• The Appearance>Menu page has got progressively slower and now takes the best part of an hour to respond. Drop down menus take ages to open, then seem to never complete adding an entry.

I have tried this with three browsers and two different machines. Clearing caches just loses log-on.

There is no point in writing a blog if readers cannot find a post.

How big is the menu? Do you have hundreds of entries or just 5-20?

Normally, menu management should load quickly. This can be influenced by themes and plugins. Try deactivating plugins, perhaps starting with those that you know interfere with the menu. If that’s not enough, deactivate all plugins.

If that’s still not enough, switch to a standard theme. One of these things must be causing the problem.

Hi @losophyp , did you manage to make the menu to load faster? If not, please feel free to reply again.

About once I managed to get it to work in under half an hour.

Currently it has spent more than two hours trying to add the latest post to the menu.

If that actually works, it will then take ages trying to move the latest post from the bottom of the menu.

Deleting plug-ins or making a menu too small to access the posts seems to be missing the point. Like taking the wheels off the car because they expect steering. Currently about 740 items.

I keep getting nagged to update other blogs, but those work!
