    Hey,

I use advanced ads on my website with google adsense fixed ad sizes. For some reason the ads do not stay fixed. While the website is loading you see the fixed ad size but once the ad loads up it switches to a different (full page width) size.

Any suggestions why this might happen?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi akba,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It is the first time I have heard about such problems with AdSense ads.

I checked different posts and pages of your appealing website to find this ad unit and replicate the issue. But the only AdSense ads that showed up were both ad units in the sidebar.

I could not see the reported behavior with the sidebar ads. Can you share a link to a post in which this problem occurs=

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi,

Sorry, forgot to mention that I use advanced ads on mobile devices only. Here are two screenshots of the problem.

Before the ad loads you can see the fixed ad size, like this:

    And after it loads:

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks,

Hey, any idea why this would happen?

    Thanks,

    Hi akba,

I can’t really understand the behavior on your screenshot. When I load your page on mobile, the presumed responsive display (sidebar 2) immediately appears in full width.

You could change the ad format to a fixed-sized design. I see no need for action here, but you can of course change this ad to a fixed-size layout.

I’m not sure if you’re ultimately confused by the gray background. I can’t reproduce it either, but maybe you can get rid of it by activating the checkbox “Transparent background” in Advanced Ads > Settings > AdSense.

A much bigger problem is the first AdSense ad in the sidebar, which has a fixed size of 729×90 px on mobile. Because your sidebar is smaller, this ad gets cut in half. This is really problematic and here I would strongly recommend switching to a smaller size or a responsive format.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
