    It is a pitty to see so many fixes and changes just to support OLD PHP and WordPress versions.

    Instead of moving ahead.

    Hi MassimoD, i agree, it is a real pain to keep compatibility for such old version.
    But as long as WordPress is supporting such old php versions it is difficult to not do this within plugins.

    But at least they are working on a solution to specify a minimum required php versions for plugins (see Link). When this is implemented the support for older versions can be slowly removed.
