Flat text pages

Hi – I’m a new WP user and it is great!!! Due to the server load, I want to change WP so that, instead of printing PHP pages for each page in the site, it creates flat text pages. I heard that there is a plugin that does this, and I’ve looked in the various plugin lists and have been unable to find one that seems to do this. Is there a way to do this in WP? Thanks!!!
