Flexible product Fields PRO
-
Hello,
My products have multiple variations, different prices, sizes and finishes, etc. I have created product field groups however those are not appearing on my page unless I create at least 1 variant with attributes and variations, which I don’t want to use. Is there any way to have the product fields visible without creating the variations and attributes in WP?Thank you

Hello @stanka1
Please send a link to the product page where this problem is.
Please also do a small test and add a new simple product in the store and set its price. Then assign a group of fields to this test product and check if the fields will be visible.
Hi,
This is the link https://streetspacegroup.co.uk/product/centaur-cl-2/. I can’t work out how to have the product fields displayed without the first ”Cycle storage” window.
Thank you.
Hi @stanka1
This is a product with variations. If the fields from our plugin are to replace these variations then please create a new simple product with the same name and set the initial price. It cannot be the same product edited to a simple product. It must be a new product with a new ID.
Hi,
Thank you so much for this. I have created new simple product https://streetspacegroup.co.uk/product/centaur-cl-3/, the fields are showing exactly how I wanted. The product has now 2 prices at the top. If I change the price in the price from field the variation table disappears. Is there a way to show the price from and still have the variation table?
Thank you.Hello @stanka1
I am sorry but I do not know the answer to this question because it is not related to our plugin.
Flexible Product Fields does not change the price shown at the top of the subpage and does not affect whether the table with variations is visible or not.
Our plugin supports variable products but the original assumption in this thread was not to show variations. Therefore I advised switching to a simple product.Hi,
Thanks for coming back to me. Our products have multiple variations (different sizes, prices, finishes etc) I have tried to set the pages as variable products first, without the Flexible products plugin, but this has given me hundreds of different variations created from the attributes. All those should be still visible for customer to choose from. I thought the Flexible product plugin would allow me to manage the different variants better. Can the flexible product plugin be used only in a simple product?Thank you.
I am sorry but these conditions conflict with each other. It is not possible to create (show) a variable product without variations.
Our plugin supports variable products as I wrote in the previous answer. But a variable product is one where the user must have at least one product variation before adding it to the cart.
Hi,
Sorry, it looks like we have misunderstood each other from the beginning. The aim for us is to have a products set up just like this one: https://streetspacegroup.co.uk/product/centaur-cl-3/, where the customer can select different variations which were all created in ”Product Fields”. The original question was that I was unable to add those fields onto the product unless like you have suggested I was to create a new simple (not variable) product. If the plugin supports the variable product why was I unable to see the “Product Fields” on the product page?
Thank youHello @stanka1
The problem is that fields created using our plugin are not variations and do not work the same. Each variation is part of a specific product and have their own ID and other parameters such as price or dimensions. The fields from the plugin are not assigned to a specific product – the fields can be the same for several products and do not have parameters like variations.
The choice of a variation is not a product configuration because this product is made. Variations allow the customer to add this made product to the basket (which is selected from the list with variations). Our plugin allows the customer to configure their own product when it cannot be described with a variation e.g. adding text on the back of a football shirt or sending a photo for printing on a mug etc.
I believe that in this case our fields can replace variations but it means resignation from variations and all advantages that variations give such as tables with attributes or separate prices etc.
The plugin supports variations but at least one variation must be selected and it does not depend on our plugin. As I mentioned above – the variation is a separate product with a separate ID. The client must indicate which variation he adds to the cart and cannot skip this step. Please note that the Add to cart button is not clickable until the customer selects a variation.
