Flexible, solid and very useful redirection.

“Redirection” is my go to solution for not only creating simple redirects of orphaned url’s when redesigning websites and thus keeping link juice and improving user experience, but also for creating specific “category pages” in sites made with Divi from Elegant Themes, which normally shows a bland generic blog style page for categories. Instead I am now able to create individual user friendly pages for each category, redirection the category slug to that page. It may sound cumbersome, but its actually very easy.
The option to log 404’s on the site, and creation redirections directly from the log is a clever and useful feature, that I use a lot when redesigning sites.
It seems that several of the poor reviews are related the confusion about having to create “redirection groups”. The plugin supports WordPress, Apache and Nginx redirects so some level of knowledge of your webhost and http redirects is required to configure this plugin. Its not necessarily for the novice user – keep that in mind when reading the reviews.
Thanks for providing this plugin to the community 🙂
