Focus Indicator on Checkbox Fields

I have a form programmed that enables a disabled user to tab thru the form fields – each of my fields displays the cursor when you tab to it, however the checkboxes give no focus indication when tabbed to them. Is there a way to enable this via css or other method so focus is visible to the user on checkboxes?
