• Hello,

We are using Media Library Folders and noticed that a specific folder (specialFolder30) is no longer loading when we try to refresh its contents in the plugin.

There is no explicit error message, but the folder does not display its files in the interface after hitting “refresh.”

    Some context about the setup:

    • The folder thebox30 is a symlink pointing to another directory (/storagebox) that resides above the web root. The folder resides in the wp-content/uploads directory
    • This setup has worked fine in the past.
    • The files themselves are accessible via direct URL, so the web server can serve them without issues. The problem only happens inside the plugin interface.

Could the plugin be blocking certain file types or directories by default, preventing the refresh?
Does Media Library Folders follow symlinks by default, or has anything changed recently that might prevent this?

Any guidance on what could cause this behavior would be appreciated.

We have not added any code for handling symlinks so I’m not sure what happens when they are used. You could try going to thebox30 folder and syncing it contents to see if it can import the files in the folder again into the media library. Note that this process is dependent on amount of memory available on the server. Thus if there are a large number of files in the folder it could fail to import all the files.
