Foo Gallery variable spaces between rows

I have several pages with masonry image galleries. Until recently the gutter size was the same size as the space between the rows. Now i have a larger space between the rows than the gutter size. When i refresh the page sometimes it is okay after that, the next time i refresh the spaces are different again. In addition to that not all thumbnails are loading. I cleared thumbnail cache and other caches but without result.
