I recently installed the basic FooGallery and FooBox on my website. They both provide features that I want for a photo gallery on specific pages. The WordPress Basic Gallery also currently supports my website for a few specific pages as it allows me to display desired captions and allows for FULL SCREEN display whereas FooBox does not.

When I installed FooGallery amd FooBox, the FooBox Settings > General Tab has options that impact the native WordPress Basic Gallery and attached images. When selected (default), the first two options directly affect the WordPress Gallery preventing use of the WordPress Gallery FULL screen display AND these same FooBox options impact the caption displayed below the photo (only part of the caption is displayed). When I UNSELECT/disable the FooBox Settings > General Tab options that impact the native WordPress Basic Gallery the correct caption is displayed but it is justified to the extreme left hand margin where it should be displayed immediately below the photo (see link).

There appears to be a conflict between FooBox and the native WordPress Basic Gallery. So my question is am I missing something here or is this an unintended conflict and what can be done to allow the native WordPress Basic Gallery function on the same website without affecting the caption below the photos?

    Hi @suncountryiris

From your question, I do understand that you do have galleries created using the default WordPress gallery block and for some or all of these galleries, you don’t want them opened using FooBox.

If I am correct in my analysis of your question, then on the pages or posts that the WordPress gallery block has been added to create the gallery, there is an option on the lower right shown in the linked image below that you can enable to exclude FooBox from that page or post: https://prnt.sc/9-cWnD87MPcz

Once enabled, then the gallery images will not be opened using FooBox.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

Thank you for the feedback…. Here is what I have configured in the FooBox > Settings > General tab:
    1) WordPress Galleries is UNCHECKED
    2) WordPress Images With Captions is UNCHECKED
    3) Attachment Images is UNCHECKED

At the WordPress page I have CHECKED the FooBox Javascript & CSS box to exclude Foobox from the selected page.

With all of these settings per the above, when I view my wordpress page with default gallery installed AND SELECT any of the photos, they open in a slideshow format by default (the selected photo is displayed on a black background). When viewing this slide show photo, the CAPTION below the photo is justified to the LEFT hand side of the screen. Prior to installation of FooBox, the text always displayed CENTER justified just below the photo.

So in other words checking the FooBox Javascript & CSS box on the page in question did not resolve the text justification.

    Thanks, Darol

    Hi @suncountryiris

FooBox does not affect the positioning of the caption when an image is opened in another lightbox. Just to confirm this for yourself, you can deactivate FooBox and test the slideshow again to see if the caption below the photo will still be to the left.

Also, could you kindly share a link to the page that has the WordPress gallery with this issue so that I can inspect it as I investigate this? Thanks in advance for doing so.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

Thank you for your response. I did deactivate FooBox as you suggested and as you stated the problem was NOT corrected. After giving it more thought there was an update to one of my other plugins (Elementor) a week or two prior to installing FooBox, I suspect Elementor may be is the culprit.

FYI, the link to the the page in question is at the bottom of my initial post on this subject. Just select one of the thumbnails and it opens in slideshow. The text was aligned just below the photo in the slide show but now aligns to the extreme left margin.

    Thanks for your assistance.
