I need to add the social icons to the footer of my page (as per https://selademo.wordpress.com/) and I also have a great deal of space below the footer section that I would like to remove. Please advise.

Is https://horseshepherd.org.au the site you need help with? If it is, that site is hosted at WordPress.com.
