Footer gets broken
-
Hello,
When activating wp-typography with the Enfold theme, our footer is broken (see link I provided). There are several columns in the footer which are supposed to show up vertically above each other on mobile, but when activating wp-typography, the columns are shown horizontally side by side, breaking the footer on mobile and making it unusable.
I’ve already applied this code (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/wp-typography-plugin-breaks-our-footer/), but that doesn’t change anything, I’m afraid.
“Fehler im HTML-Code ignorieren.” is already turned off.
Thanks and cheers,
Mischa-

Well, I’m afraid I’ve stopped experimenting with wp-typography now anyways, as it breaks too much.
When I activate it, I get the aforementioned footer issue, but it also breaks the design on many other pages. When I enable the option to ignore HTML errors, the design is fine again, but then wp-typography doesn’t apply its magic on these pages. That leaves me with a website where wp-typography works on only 50 % of all pages, rendering it quite useless.
I’m aware that this is a common issue with theme builders and it’s a shame that there are these compatibility issues, apparently because of poor code quality by these theme builders, but for now this means I can’t use wp-typography 🙁
Keep up the good work though, great plugin (when there are no compatibility issues)! 🙂
Hi @studiomondiale, you might want to try the workaround outlined in https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/wp-typography-breaks-enfold-theme/ – I have not gotten any feedback on that, but in theory it should solve the problem with non-wellformed HTML fragments (as it only looks at the whole page).
If you can verify this, I’d prioritize integrating this mode into wp-Typography itself. (The idea has been in my head for a long time, but since the current way works for most sites …)
Hello,
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll give it a try later this week, if I get a chance, and will report back.
So I gave it a try and I’m afraid it doesn’t make a difference, at least none that I can notice. The layout is still broken on the pages that were broken before and the footer is still broken as well.
Thank you. So there might be other parser-issues or there is some interference with the regular hooks. I’ll have to investigate further.
