• I do not even have my website live yet and am pretty new to word press.

    I have a sub-menu in my header which works perfectly when hovered over. I have the same sub-menu in my footer but hovering over the title does not drop-down the sub-menu so is completely useless. I have scoured youtube for help with this but found nothing that relates.

    I’m sure I’m not including enough detail so if someone can respond with what details I need to provide, I will more than happy to do so.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    What is the name of the theme you’re using?

    Don’t worry; I’m here to help you troubleshoot!

    To better assist you, could you please provide some additional details?

    1. Theme Information: Let me know which WordPress theme you are using. Different themes handle menus and navigation in various ways, so having this information will help in providing more accurate guidance.
    2. Link to Your Website: If your website is live or accessible, sharing a link would be helpful for me to inspect the issue directly.
    3. Menu Structure: Describe how you’ve set up your menu structure. Are you using WordPress’s built-in menu system, and have you assigned the correct menu to your footer?
    4. Footer Widget or Menu Area: Confirm if the footer area where the menu is located is a widgetized area or if it’s a custom menu location within your theme.

    Hi @ingukjd,

    Good Day.
    Since your website is not live yet, I think it would be great if you could share a screenshot of your website so that we could better look at the issue.

    Thanks

    I replied to you anikaqueen through email, probably misunderstanding how this worked so thats probably why i got not no response. Here was my reply:

    Thank you so much for your quick response.

    * I’m using Astra as the theme

    * My site is set up as a sub-domain right now as I didn’t want anyone to be able to access it, so I guess that means that no one here can view it either. Unless you can tell me a way.

    * I have used wordpress Appearance – Menus to build the menu and then have used a custom css to make my header sticky, the footer though is using the same menu and then i’ve used the customize editing tool to place the various aspects of the footer.  I don’t know if these screenshots will help

    <Screen Shot 2024-01-01 at 7.13.05 PM.png>
    <Screen Shot 2024-01-01 at 7.15.21 PM.png>

    * I’ll provide another screenshot here to see if that answers your final question:

    Just to clarify again.  Before I started building this site, I had no knowledge of WordPress and have no coding knowledge, so what I have created is pieced together by using youtube tutorials from different places, so I may well have messed something up by using multiple methods out of inexperience.

    Thank you again.’

    I’m sorry, this sounds really stupid and I promise I’m better with computers than I seem, but I can’t work out how to upload a screenshot.

    We don’t have a way to upload screenshots here, you’d have to use a third party, like https://snipboard.io

    With that said though, since Astra is a commercial theme, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best: https://wpastra.com/contact/

    Forum volunteers do not have access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working correctly. Other community members who may have faced your issue might be able to help you, but your best bet is your product’s developer. We encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way.

    Shows in Customize that the same Main Menu is set to Primary Menu (header) and Footer.

    Shows in Customize how my footer is set up – Footer menu is the menu that will not drop down.

    Shows how the header menu drop down works fine.

    I will try posting in Astra forum as well, but thought maybe this will help someone if it is not an Astra issue.

    Thanks,
