    Hi!

Our Contact Form 7 forms randomly don’t work, displaying an error “Forbidden. Please enable JavaScript.” We couldn’t find any reproducible pattern (and JS is always enabled), but we did catch some JS errors coming from the CleanTalk api endpoints. Please see the image below.

We are seeing this error appearing randomly across different devices and time. We use LiteSpeed Cache but saw this error with LSC disabled as well. We will try to tinker with the CleanTalk JS settings, but still we would like to know why this is happening (to avoid it in the future). Can you tell us what those 403’s mean internally?

    Thanks!

    Hello.

I’ve analyzed your Anti-Spam logs. You’ve updated the Anti-Spam plugin recently. A few requests after updating were blocked because of spam email and not because of disabled JavaScript.

Could you please test again with a clean valid email and let us know if there are any issues? You can check the email status here: https://cleantalk.org/blacklists.

    Hello @katereji

    Thank you for your reply!

I don’t think you’d see any relevant information in the Anti-Spam logs. The “JavaScript disabled” error comes from Contact Form 7 and it is a “misnomer”. Contact Form 7 shows this messages when there is an unexpected runtime JavaScript error.

Can you list reasons why/when the CleanTalk endpoints /v1/js_keys__get and /v1/email_before_post return the HTTP 403 code?
