Hi,
I have experienced the same problem, too.
I think this option should log out the user after a certain amount time of inactivity, not when we are working on the website. This is very annoying.
I am not sure if this is a bug or the option is designed to work like this.
@nachhaltigejobs, please read the following note regarding this feature.
Setting an expiry period for your WP administration session is a simple way to protect against unauthorized access to your site from your computer.
This feature allows you to specify a time period in minutes after which the admin session will expire and the user will be forced to log back in.
So, if you set a time limit to 30 minutes in Logout the WP User After XX Minutes:, when this time is reached you will also be logged out of your session because you are logged in as an administrator in your site.
Let me know if the above makes sense to you.
Kind regards
Hi, @mbrsolution
In my opinion, it doesn’t make sense at all.
Logically it should log out the user after xx amount of inactivity time, not while the user is working on the site.
I believe this option will be more beneficial when it logs out the users after xx time of inactivity. This also protects the site from unauthorized access much better.
I remember Once I set the time to 1 minute to test it. It logged me out after 1 minute.
Does it make sense?
