Hello, plugin being used on a site that must have embedded link to one of their uploaded pdf’s without using https. When the link is clicked, the pdf is not automatically reverting to the https (it shows with https and ‘insecure’ warning. When I change it manually to https, it’s totally fine. Regular page links seem to revert to https just fine, but the .pdfs do not change automatically to https for some reason).

I though this plugin forced that change? What am I missing?

    Thanks!

    Hi @yesyeah,

Are these external links? The plugin only changes hyperlinks from the website’s own domain to https. Otherwise links to websites without SSL certificate would break. If the pdf document points to a location on your own website, it should change it to https.

Can you post an example of the html of your download link here?

If you can post a link to the page where you have the issue, I can take a look.

    Thank you!

It’s for a .pdf ON the site – the pdf’s don’t resolve to https (the pages do).

This was a link on a constant contact email, to a pdf on the site (which has an ssl) but the link used in the email was http (not https) which should still resolve when opened from my understanding.

I’m not a huge fan of putting links on here to client sites, is there a way I can email it privately? Thank you so much!

    Hi,

you might have to enable the .htaccess redirect before the pdf’s are being redirected to https://. Have you already tried enabling that option?

You can send the site url via our support page at https://really-simple-ssl.com/support/
