Hm, are you sure this is the right place to ask this question? Could you elaborate?

Yes, it’s the correct forum :).

I’m not asking how to run cron jobs and such, I know how to do those things. What I’m asking is how to manually run the update for wp-slimstat which seems to imply it is a cron task.

So, mainly wondering which file I’m supposed to run that contains the update processes.

Slimstat has only one cron, the one to clean the database on a daily basis:

I’m not sure I understand what you’re referring to.

    Hi.

I read somewhere that there is a way to force the daily update so wanted to do that manually.

I would recommend using this plugin:

Hmm, I already said above I know how to run cron jobs so certainly don’t want to install yet another plugin.

Not sure why my question isn’t clear, it’s rather simple. Forget cron jobs, I am simply asking if there is a method of running an update manually.

As I understand it, this is done daily only by the plugin as a cron task.

I guess my confusion is related to the word “update”. Are you asking how to manually check if there’s a new version of Slimstat available?

I would have said I am wanting to look for new updates but no, I said I am wondering if there is some way of forcing the daily update.

Again, please, as I explained, this is just something I read, I don’t know if that is the case. Does the plugin do a daily update or does it update every so often without some sort of task that it runs?

I’ve no idea, you are the author πŸ™‚

I don’t know where you read what, my friend, but there is no daily update feature in Slimstat. It’s all handled by WordPress.

I’ll assume I read something wrong or something unrelated then.

I’ve had the plugin installed for a couple of days, there aren’t many stats yet there is plenty of traffic which is why I’ve been looking for this.

    Thanks.

Are you sure you’re not confusing this plugin with WP Statistics? Slimstat records pageviews as soon as they happen, there is no delay or daily cron to process them. If you are using Slimstat, then something else might be interfering with the tracker and preventing it from doing its job.

    (@bloggy2013)

No, not confusing this with anything else.

What I said was that perhaps I read something about another product in terms of the cron job I’ve mentioned.

As for other plugins, I do have Google Analytics and Jetpack installed along with Yoast SEO and W3 caching. Those are about the only ones I could see interfering I supposed.

It’s just odd because I can clearly see traffic coming to the site, reading articles etc but nothing much in the slimstats stats.

PS: Jetpack site stats are disabled.
