    Hi,

I created a staging version of my website to test it with the new 5.5.1 update of WordPress. It seems as though the Stripe plugin is having issues, because the credit card form does not work properly. I changed the theme, and the same error occurs, so I am pretty sure that it is the Stripe plugin (the PayPal plugin works perfectly fine). When I try to checkout, the Stripe credit card form has two issues. It either:

    1. Does not show the form at all
    OR
    2. Does not let users input their information because the lines are too small

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey there!

I can’t seem to see what you are referring to, as it works well when I view the link you sent:
    Link to image: https://d.pr/i/QHZzUv

The container it’s in is a bit small, so the fields are smushed a bit, but that is just CSS in the theme you are using

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

Are you on the dev version? Because the live version is fine. What is the URL of the page you are on?

I can’t seem to add a product from the dev store to my cart. Every time I click a product, or hit add to cart, it redirects me to your live site.

I thought I was on the dev site originally, but I see that it’s redirecting me.

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Hi,

I fixed the issue, you should now be able to visit the checkout page on the dev version of the site. I had to change the htaccess file. (Please clear your browser cookies and cache also refresh the page by Ctrl+F5 and check the issue again.).

Here’s the link to the checkout page, where you will see the issue with the Stripe form: https://www.captenhats.ca/dev/checkout/

Let me know what’s the issue! Thanks.

    Hi again,

I looked at the site and was able to see the issue at hand. My suggestion is the same as @slash1andy, actually- it looks like something is conflicting with Stripe here. There are some console errors related to an “upsell order” plugin, so I’d start there. If disabling that doesn’t help, please follow the above steps and perform a complete conflict test.

Let us know how this goes!

    Hi,

I had an upsell plugin during the checkout process that was causing the issue, thanks for pointing that out! I deactivated it and now the Stripe plugin works. I will contacgt the upsell plugin dev to fix it.

    Thanks!

Yay! Great to hear you figured this out.
I’m going to mark this as thread as resolved, but feel free to start a new one if you have any more questions!

    Best,

    Ross
