form slow to send

    Hi, I have a site using the contact form 7 plugin.
    the latest version of WP & PHP 7.3 running
    when you press send, the form takes ages to send.
    sometimes it takes 10 mins, so you just give up.
    is there anything I can do to see why this might be?
    I have had to remove the contact form from my site as it’s become unusable, but I have duplicated the page for testing here [ redundant link removed ]

    Try switching theme to the default one (Twenty Nineteen or Twenty Seventeen) and deactivating all the plugins excluding Akismet, Classic Editor, Contact Form 7, and Yoast SEO.

    hi, the problem is that it’s an intermittent issue. it fails, then is slow, then works, whilst the setup remains the same, so I’m afraid your suggestion is unlikely to prove anything. Also, Contact form 7 has worked on all my sites before, so i know it’s a good plugin. Contact form 7 was also a suggested plugin to use with xtheme. isn’t there a way you can login and debug or read the logs to see what’s going on? thanks
