• Hi, I hope one of you very clever people can advise.

I am running a WordPress site with the Zoner theme, I have had numerous issues with permalinks not working in a uniform way (different permalink settings mean different pages return 404s. I have tried checking .htaccess permissions (no .htaccess found even if ‘show hidden files’ is active via SFTP)and also tried disabling plugins to search for a conflict.

Perhaps temporarily I have resolved all except 1, regrettably I now have a form which redirects to wp-admin on submit.

Any idea as what might be the cause and how I might resolve this?

All suggestions and advice gratefully received. Thank you.

Permalinks should not work at all without a .htaccess file. Are you by any chance NOT on an Apache server? .htaccess is only for Apache servers. nginx, IIS, etc. have different mechanisms to achieve similar purposes.

Have you tried switching to a default theme like twentysixteen? If your form does not redirect with a different theme, your theme is at fault and you should take this up through your theme’s support channel. We are unable to help people here that use commercial themes.
