Form tampering errors with GoDaddy Basic Managed WordPress (and how to avoid it)
-
Long (2 year) story short…I’ve had no end but trouble with users getting form tampering errors on my events page and no amount of automatic cache purging, fiddling with functions.php would work – I’d get random emails from users unable to book. GoDaddy confirmed it was likely their Cloudflare CDN caching the page but provided no help at all in terms of resolving it – other than “upgrade and you get to configure exclusions”.
A short conversation with Claude and I realised GoDaddy Managed Workpress is advertised as compatible with WooCommerce which will of course use nonces in the same way.
Simple fix ? Change your permalink for events to /cart and don’t use /events. It seems GoDaddy has configured CDN to exclude WooCommerce specific urls but isn’t prepared to give you that advice.
It would be useful to document this in the EME documentation.
