Formatting issues when assiging
-
Hi!
Quite often my clients get a problem of hierarchy formatting when assigning WooCommerce products to custom taxonomy created by your plugin.
First it’s formatted fine, like this: https://prnt.sc/nj2vvd
But then it stops looking nice and formatted, like this: https://prnt.sc/nj2w7m
Do you have any ideas on this matter?

Hi there,
Hm, the the hierarchy is gone? I can not reproduce the problem, the hierarchy persists on my test rig. When does it stop working for you? When you do what?
Since this might very well be a conflict with some other code, the next recommended step is the conflict test:
*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If this fixes the problem, as it might, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.
Please let us know when you find the conflict so that we can take a look and see what we can do about it.
With the best of regards,
GabrielHi, Gabriel!
I’m not exactly sure when this problem appears. It does appear quite often, though.
I switched to twenty nineteen, left only WooCommerce and WCK plugins running, and the problem is still there. At the moment my hypothesis is that this happens once you create “a lot” of taxonomies.
What new steps would you suggest to debug this?
Best regards,
Vchk* Sorry, I rather meant a lot of taxonomy terms, not a lot of different taxonomies. One taxonomy, with many hierarchical taxonomy terms.
Also, what’s important, the problem appears only when editing existing products. When I try adding new products the problem does not seem to be there at all.
Hello Vchk,
I see, thanks for doing the conflict test.
I am in the process of attempting to reproduce the problem.
I have added around 30 tax terms and it’s still looking good.
Please tell me:
1) How many tax terms do you have (approx)? A hundred, a thousand?
2) Do all hierarchies go away completely when the problem appears?
Best regards,
GabrielHi, Gabriel!
1. I only have about 60 taxonomy terms, not that much
2. No, not all of them go away. Some hierarchy at the top of the list is just fine. And then, as you scroll down the list, it goes bad. Like this:Good: https://prnt.sc/nl4cai
Bad:

https://prnt.sc/nl4cpaHi there,
Thanks for the additional info.
I have created 60 tax terms but I am still unable to reproduce.
Additional questions:
1) Does this problem always show up only on unchecked boxes? Because this seems to be the case in your screenshot.
2) What’s up with that “Make primary” link next to them? I can’t get it to show up. Where is it activated?
Best regards,
GabrielHi, Gabriel!
Thank you for your help!
1. I think yes, it looks like it’s always showing on unchecked boxes
2. Thant “Make primary” link is added by Yoast SEO plugin. This one: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wordpress-seo/Best regards,
VchkHi Vchk,
Thanks for more additional info.
I have now more than 80 tax terms and I still can not reproduce it.
Can you please install a fresh wordpress in a subdirectory of your current install and see if you can reproduce?
It shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes.
Please use the default Twenty Nineteen theme, and no plugins other than WC and WCK.
Thanks,
GabrielHi! I’m not gone, I had to travel and work intensively for some time. Working on recreating the issue now.
All right, thanks for keeping in touch!
Hi!
I finally have time to work on this again. I think I recreated the issue.
I will do another install and try to recreate it there as well.Do you want to somehow send you the login credentials?
Sure, if you manage to reproduce this on a staging environment, please do provide login credentials so that we can investigate.
You may use our private ticket system for this:

GabrielHi, Gabriel!
Thank you! I’ve created a ticket.
All right, thanks. So I guess you have managed to reproduce it then, on the staging environment?
We’ll look into it as soon as possible.
Regards,
Gabriel
