I’m running into an issue where being on the latest version of Gutenberg plugin causes issues when editing Forminator > Form Editor > Email Notifications > Add Email Notification dialog box/modal.

I disabled all non-essential plugins on the site, and noticed my the symptoms below did NOT occur with all non-essential plugins disabled. I proceeded to re-enable them one-by-one until the symptoms recurred, to isolate which plugin is causing the conflict. Symptom reappeared after activating Gutenberg plugin; see exact version details below.

    Symptom:

Go to Forminator > Form Editor > Email Notifications > Add Email Notification dialog box/modal for a particular form.

The Email tab of the modal renders OK. However, when I click to the Recipients, Advanced, or Conditions tabs of that modal, the modal disappears. Instead, I get a virtually-empty gray panel with only the Forminator admin screen footer:

Made with <3 by WPMU DEV

Free Plugins / Membership / Roadmap / Support / Docs / The Hub / Terms of Service / Privacy Policy

    <social media icons>

URL where I get the gray screen:

    $SITE_URL/wp-admin/admin.php?page=forminator-cform-wizard&id=637

    Environment:

    • WordPress 6.8.1, Twenty-Twenty Five Child Theme, minimal mods.
    • Forminator 1.46.2
    • Gutenberg Plugin 21.5.0

  • Hi @seanalansnyder

I hope you are doing well today.

This is happening because of the “Disable TinyMCE and Classic block” feature located in Gutenberg -> Experimentals. Our Forminator Team is already aware of this, so developers will look into it to address it in future updates.

Unchecking that option shouldn’t interfere with anything. It’s actually an experimental feature that is only available if you use Gutenberg plugin and with standard block editor TinyMCE/Classic editor is still not disabled entirely – yet it doesn’t cause issues with content editing.

A quick solution to edit Forminator Recipients, Advanced, or Conditions tabs in the Email Notifications modal, will be to disable “Disables the TinyMCE and Classic block.” in Gutenberg -> Experimentals.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris
