    My client is not getting Forminator email notifications for form submissions and when trying to resend the form submission using the Forminator “RESEND NOTIFICATION EMAIL” button, it doesn’t come through to their email.

    I have done the following:

    -Installed and setup WP Mail SMPT plugin

    -Cleared Cache using Hummingbird plugin

    -Have disabled Hummingbird thinking there may be a conflict but did not resolve the issue

    -Installed “Check & Log Email” plugin >>> Log shows that emails are being sent

    -Have changed server spam filter to be less restrictive

    -Have tried changing notification email to be @gmail address >>> Still doesn’t work

    -Have whitelisted from: email domain

    -Have removed characters from the notification email like # and & from the body and subject line

    -Have created thank you page after form submission, thinking it may be an issue

    -Have tried toggling the “Prevent page caching on form pages” on the form settings, this also did not help.

    There is an API integration “ActiveCampaign – Forminator to ActiveCampaign” – disabled this integration to see if the notification would come trough, but this also didn’t work.

    I am not sure what else to try to rectify this issue.

    I hope you are doing well today.

    Do you have another site that is hosted on the same hosting? If so, can you test the fresh form on a different domain and see does email notifications will be sent?

    Also, on the original domain, when the main issue exists, can you create a test form, place it on some test page, add your personal email in an email notification, and see if you will receive that email?

    If that will not give any positive results, please export your form, upload it to Google Drive, or use Pastebin and share a link in your next reply so that we can review it and test it in our lab.

    We have to other forms on the same domain that work and a few of out other clients have Forminator forms and we do not have this problem. We have also noticed that the form submissions seem to be duplicating but not on all the form submissions.

    Hi @krbdigital,

    Thanks for sharing the export. I tested the form in my system, and I was able to get the email without any issue.

    I could notice the email recipients are set to your domain emails, to start with, could you please try changing the recipient email in the Email notification and then check whether you get any emails or not? ie use Gmail for example, etc

    The above should help in ruling out if the issue is within the Email inbox or not, and whether the issue is within specific inbox.

    Could you also try by creating a new test form, ie for example, the contact form, and see whether email from that form works?

    If the above works, it will help in ruling out whether any specific content in the email notifications is being received.

    Please do note that Forminator only initiates the action on sending the email, its your WordPress installation that send the emails, so we’ll have to check and rule out what aspect is causing the email to not work.

    The plugin also provides an option to send a test email to any desired email account. Could you also check how it behaves if a test email is sent via the plugin?

    You meant even the submissions content are duplicated? We have just released a new version 1.43 for Forminator, so please do update the plugin to the latest version and let us know how that goes too.

    Hi Nithin

    I have tested @gamil.com as notification email as mentioned in my initial message and it made no difference.

    I have sent a test email from “Check & Log Email” plugin and it seems to work.

    I have contacted our hosting provider and they suggested we roll back to PHP version 8.2. It was PHP 8.3, the emails seem to be coming into our inbox now but the there are still the odd duplicate submission.

    I have updated the Forminator plugin and will monitor for the next days to see if the duplicate submissions( Yes even the content is duplicated ) still continue.

    Thank you for the update.

    In the past we had similar ( duplicated ) submission when there was two ajax request when the submit button was triggered, but I checked your website and couldn’t see it, so yes, please, keep eyes if the new plugin version makes any difference.

    I also see you are not using HTTPS in WordPress > Settings, could you update the URLs to HTTPS?

    About the email, I tested with 8.3 and 8.4 but couldn’t replicate, I believe the PHPmail for your server may be malfunctioning, but if you could run a final test which is enabling the debug mode https://wpmudev.com/blog/debugging-wordpress-how-to-use-wp_debug for a moment in PHP 8.3 and see if any debug.log is generating it may give us some clue.
