Forms no longer work – "outsideinside" error

    After the initial upgrade, the forms and their submissions vanished, but – as recommended here – deactivating/reactivating the plugin made them reappear.

    The issue is, now, that even though the forms exist again, they are unusable.

    Attempting to submit a form just causes the page to reload and “outsideinside” to display at the top of the page.

    Nothing is saved in the submissions area, nor are the emails it’s supposed to produce sent, so obviously something is keeping the submission from processing correctly – but the only hint I have is this “outsideinside” message and I don’t understand what that means.

    Any ideas?

    It sounds like an anti-spam error. Once I get 2.0.1 released, install that and see if it makes any difference for you.

    Gotcha, it wouldn’t be the first time that Akismet didn’t play nice with a form plugin. Thanks for the reply!

    I get a blank white screen with the word “outside” written on it when trying to submit a post with the create post add-on. I don’t use Akismet or any other anti-spam plugin.

    Once version 2.0.1 is recognized by WordPress, download that and try it out.

    I didn’t mean an anti-spam plugin, I meant the anti-spam field within Ninja Forms. There appears to have been a bug in the conversion from the previous version of Ninja Forms to 2.0 that has to do with anti-spam fields. With version 2.0.1 downloaded and activated, remove any anti-spam fields that you have in your form and re-add them.

    Thanks Kevin. The form submission is now accepted (post creation). Great that you have changed the categories to a checklist. The selected categories, however, do not get appended to the post. All submitted posts become ‘uncategorized’ instead. The 0.2 add-on updates were successfully updated but when the plugin page was reloaded they were back to 0.1. Also, the success message is not shown. Maybe I got the settings wrong though or it is connected to the temporary lack of Ajax.

    Hey Mr. Press,

    For some reason WordPress hasn’t recognized my update for 2.0.1. The success message not showing shouldn’t have anything to do with the lack of Ajax.

    Once you can get to version 2.0.1 (I’ll try and re-update the repo tomorrow morning), we’ll go from there.
