Forms not submitting on front end

We’ve found that recently the some forms have not been submitting correctly. No reason, no errors, just no action from the forms.

The only clue that I’ve been able to find so far is that running the pages HTML through the W3C validation shows an error with an extraneous </p> tag. I have tried to edit the template to remove that, but it hasn’t helped, so I’m stuck with everything here.

Is there any ideas about what could be going wrong with this now? It’s been working for years, but just recently has fallen over.

Kindly follow the steps mentioned to create a separate “Lost Password” page as suggested in the guide. Once done, please check if the issue is resolved.

I’ve done as requested and created the new ‘Lost Password’ page using the shortcode provided.

This has not solved the issue. The form still does not submit when you click on the ‘Reset Password’ button.

The same goes for the standard login form. This does not submit by clicking the button, hitting return in a field or any other method that is normally used.

What could be blocking your forms from submitting?

As another note, this also has not fixed the invalid HTML issue with your forms, which is what is widely thought of to break form submissions:

I’m hoping that this can give you some ideas on how to fix this to make it work correctly and have the correct HTML syntax.

Hi @catacaustic,

It seems that there is a conflict between the plugin. Could you please refer to this documentation https://docs.wpuserregistration.com/docs/how-to-check-plugin-theme-conflict/ and follow the instruction kindly. This will let you know the cause of the error.

Please note that you will need to do manual deactivation method on your case.

Yes. I’ve been able to figure out that there was a conflict with another system, and it seems to be OK now.
